German engineer Karlheinz Brandenburg, who is considered the developer of the MP3 audio format, announced the emergence of a new technology for transferring music files. This is reported by the publication Tom’s Guide.
Brandenburg presented the technology at the CES 2024 exhibition in the United States. The specialist showed a new system of augmented reality headphones, which can provide the transfer of audio files at a new level. The engineer emphasised that the technology will maximise immersion in an alternative reality.
Karlheinz Brandenburg’s headset is equipped with sensors that track the position of the listener’s head in space and analyse the environment. In this case, the device is able to provide the most natural sound possible. The inventor called this technology “spatial sound plus”.
