The performer of one of the key roles in “Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom” Dolph Lundgren insists that there is a “really good” version of the comic book movie, but it was not the one seen by the audience who came to the cinemas during the Christmas holidays. The actor, who played king of the kingdom of Xebel Nereus, the father of Amber Heard’s character, Mera, in the Aquaman sequel, said in a recent interview that he was “disappointed” by the film’s reshoots, as the original version was “really good”.
“As I understand it, according to a corporate decision, Amber Heard’s role in the film was cut, and since I was starring as her father, I was also cut,” Dolph Lundgren explained the situation.
According to unconfirmed official information, due to Amber Heard’s reduced role in the sequel, the script was rewritten. “I was disappointed for the audience because I thought the original script of the film was great, and the original version – I saw some parts of it, it was really good, so I didn’t see any reason for reshoots and changes in the plot, which certainly led to disappointment not only for me, but also among the audience.”
